The process
consists of
incorporate steps
such as a home
safety and fire
inspection,
fingerprinting, a
criminal background
check, and TB
testing.
If you are
fostering or
fostering- to-adopt,
you are required to
learn CPR and First
Aid as well as take
medication
monitoring training.
Since the
adoption and foster
care process is very
similar you may want
to pursue a dual
license.
Dependant on
how quickly you can
turn all of your
completed paperwork,
the process averages
about 3-4 months.
It is
important to know
that this is an
exploratory process
and that you may
change your mind
anytime throughout
the process.
Homebound
staff will help you
through the process
after you are
licensed and when
you have kids in
your home.
We are
committed to helping
you and advocating
for you at every
step of the way even
after adoption.
